Abstract

1,150,609. Valves. ARTHUR GUINNESS SON & CO. (PARK ROYAL) Ltd. 10 Nov., 1967 [21 Nov., 1966], No. 51934/66. Addition to 956,901. Heading F2V. [Also in Division G3] A beverage dispensing valve similar to that disclosed in the parent Specification is provided with a closure member 26 which enables the valve to be used without a separate tap. The valve comprises a stationary member 21 provided with a taper 24, helical flights 25 and closure member 26 which elements co-operate respectively with a hole 9 in cavitation plate 8, a flow passage 7 and a surface 6a in a piston 6 which is movable by handle 4 to first unseat member 26 whereafter the position of the piston controls the amount of fi oth dispensed with the beverage through outlet 3a. In various modifications, the flights 25 are replaced by a spigot, a stationary piston 6 co-operates with a movable member 21 and the position of member 26 may be as illustrated in either Fig. 4 or 5 (not shown).
