Abstract

1,149,111. Shovelling machines. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. 6 June, 1966 [7 June, 1965], No. 25095/66. Heading E1F. In a shovelling machine there is provided a bucket tilt indicator 42 having a cam controlling a follower regulating a valve 74 controlling an air supply to a piston actuating a detent mechanism operatively associated with the spool of a manually actuable spool valve 36. The mechanism operates the valve 36 to so control a bucket-tilting ram 20, when the spool valve 36 has been moved to and locked in a position to cause the ram 20 to return the bucket from a dump position to a level hold position, that the ram will automatically be locked when the bucket reaches the level hold position by the cam, as the indicator records the bucket reaching the level hold position, causing air to be supplied to the piston to cause it to release the detent so that the spool can return to a neutral position to cut off pressurised fluid to the ram 20. The spool remains in the neutral position until further manipulation of the valve 36 by the operation of the machine.
