In a convertible ambulance seat, in which the seat squab is reversible, as in the parent Specification, the reverse side is formed with inclinable padded sections 4, 5 and 6. Section 4 is supported by a strut 12, engaging notches (10) and held by resilient cords 14. The free end of leg section 6 engages further notches (11), under the action of resilient cords 15. Channel-shaped guides (22) receive a wheeled stretcher, when the sections 4, 5 and 6 are co-planar.
