A vehicle seat, particularly for use in a caravan, is arranged on a base frame so that it can be turned about a horizontal axis to face in either direction. To reverse the seat, a helical bolt 42 is withdrawn and brackets 24 slidden towards the opposite ends of stationary guide rails 21. The seat members 45, 46 are tilted backwards about their pivotal connections with brackets 24 to a position in which they are functionally interchanged. The seat is secured in this position by engaging bolt 42 in hole 40 in frame 27. Sleeves 26 are independently pivoted on brackets 24 and legs 34 of frame 35 pass through the sleeves and enter sockets 37 which are rigidly secured to frame 27. In order to convert the seat into part of a bed, brackets 24 are moved to the middle of rails 21 (Fig. 5) and legs 34 withdrawn from sockets 37 so that frame 35 can be angularly moved, together with sleeves 26, relatively to frame 27. When both frames 27 and 35 are in the horizontal position, legs 34 may be pushed through sleeves 26 (without engaging sockets 37) to close the gap between the cushions. To complete the formation of a bed, the back squab of a fixed and movable seat are placed on removable frame 60 and a back rest frame 57 attached to the movable seat frame 52.
