Abstract

1,015,138. Stackable chairs. D. SEBEL & CO. Ltd. Dec. 29, 1961 [Dec. 29, 1960], No. 46655/61. Headings A4H and A4J. In a chair of the type disclosed in Specification 648,243 downward displacement of the combined seat and backrest 12 is limited by means such as prongs 8 extending rearwardly from the seat frame 4. Resilient grommets 14 may be interposed between the seat frame 4 and the prongs 8. The prongs 8 may be replaced by a member extending between the two limbs of the seat frame 4 or by a U-shaped member secured at its free ends to the front of the seat frame. The combined seat and back-rest 12 may be bowed to reduce contact of the seated person with the cross-members of the chair frame.
