Abstract

1361755 Collapsible chairs T NII 22 Nov 1972 53987/72 Heading A4J A chair which is foldable about a central longitudinal axis, comprises pivotally interconnected U-shaped frames 12, 14 including legs 16, 18 and arm-rests 20, 22 and a flexible support 41 which is shaped to form seat and back-rest portions by a pair of rods 46, 48 extending through hems 42, 44 in the longitudinal edges of the support, the rods being connected to the arm-rests such that the rear part of the seat portion extends below the arm-rests. The upper ends of the legs 16, 18 are pivotally connected in arcuate channels formed in the underside of each arm-rest by screws passing through the legs and through axial slots at the ends of the arm-rests. The arm-rests may be of generally inverted U-shape, Figs. 5-8 (not shown).
