The backrest panel 18, of a metal framed chair, is clamped against raised annular parts 26 of rubber blocks 22, by screws 23 passing through holes 21 in bars 20. The parts 26 provide a range of easy tilting movement for panel 18, enabling the backrest to conform readily to the user's posture.
