A demountable table or chair comprises a pair of adjacent legs 3 carried on a first frame 11 which nests into a second frame having legs 2 and being secured to seat 4 or table top, so that this seat or table top overlies part of frame 11 when the frames are interconnected. The frames, which may be made of tubular metal, are connected together by pins 15 at both ends of the frame 11 or, as shown, by pins 15 at the rear and by wedging base 13 of frame 11 between a cross member 14 and the seat 4 or a table top.
