Abstract

918,314. Nesting furniture. STURGIS POSTURE CHAIR CO. Oct. 24, 1960 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 36341/60. Class 52 (2). Nesting underframes, on which seat members are mounted to form chairs, have horizontal bearer bars by which they are supported one on another in spaced relationship so that the seat members do not abut one another. As shown, the bearer bars 28, 29 or 48, 49 may either be engaged by resilient clips 30 or lie behind bars 50 when two identical frames are superposed. The clips 30 may be of moulded linear polyethylene or spring metal. Loops 33 are provided to engage clips 30 and link the frames side by side. A joint (Fig. 7, not shown) for connecting the seat members to the underframes is described.
