Abstract

1468123 Furniture frames HERCULES Inc 18 March 1975 [28 March 1974] 11124/75 Heading A4H A furniture frame for a sofa bed, recliner chair, rocking chair, comprises a pair of spaced parallel, load bearing mirror-image sub-frames 10, 20, each subframe being moulded in one piece from plastics material and formed of joined plate-portions, each sub-frame including at least one peripherally enclosed load-bearing receptacle such as 22a, 22b, 22c, the receptacle being connected to the remainder of the sub-frame by at least four plate portions such as 23a-f radiating outwardly from the receptacle, and at least one connecting member such as 12, 14, 16 having its ends received within receptacles of the respective sub-frames. Each subframe also includes areas 19 for the attachment of legs 18, castors etc., and upholstery tacking surfaces 28. The plastics may comprise polypropylene foam, polystyrene, polyethylene.
