Abstract

1,140,476. Burner for flame photometry. CESKOSLOVENSKA AKADEMIE VED. 25 Aug., 1967 [9 Sept., 1966], No. 39159/67. Heading F4T. [Also in Division G2] A burner for flame photometry has two jets 10, 10 supplying gaseous fuel and enclosed in a cylindrical combustion chamber 17, the walls of which are cooled externally by air drawn through a closed space 8 by a pump 22, and air or oxygen is supplied to the bottom of chamber 17 and to a third jet 11 through which is also supplied the material to be analysed, in the form of an aerosol, the pressure in chamber 17 being reduced below atmospheric by means of a pump 21 which draws away combustion products. The air or oxygen passes through a filter 26. Screens 14, 18 screen off the inner luminous cone 16 of the flame 15.
