Abstract

1,139,932. Glazing. VEREINIGTE LEICHTMETALL-WERKE G.ni:b:H. 15 July, 1966 [15 July, 1965; 26 Jan., 1966; 16 April, 1966] No. 31983/66. Heading E1R. A glass panel 8 is secured in a metal frame 1 having one. fixed stop .rail 5 by means of a glazing strip 3 and one or ,more clips 2 which are resiliently held in a correspondingly shaped groove having flanks 7, 7a', in the base 4 of the frame and: having an extension 12 whose barb 10 snaps into a notch on the inturned flange 15 of the glazing strip 3, the extreme end 16 of flange 15, which may be rounded or bevelled, bearing against the underside of a lip 11 of flank 7a. Neoprene sealing strips 6 are caulked into the fixed stop 5 and strip 3, and' the clip 7 may be of aluminium or hard plastics and is provided with a groove 17 in its base to reduce friction in cases where the clip has to be slid to position it along the frame member 4. The strip 3 may be provided with a surface sloping downwards from the panel 8. The clips may be capable of being arched to permit insertion into the groove after the corners of the frame have been assembled, after which insertion they are flattened into position in the groove.
