Abstract

1,139,660. Transformers. TOKO, K.K. 26 Sept., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 43819/67. Heading H1T. The wire used to wind the coils (2, 2a) (Fig. 2, not shown) of an intermediate-frequency transformer comprises an electrically conductive core 8 and a magnetic layer 9, e.g. pure iron or permalloy, coating the surface of the core 8. An insulating layer 10 may be provided over the magnetic layer. In one embodiment the coils are wound on a former (1) provided around its periphery with radial fins forming therebetween narrow annular grooves (7) in which the coils are spirally wound. Adjusting cores (4) are also provided. The transformer, which includes one or more tuning capacitors (5), is enclosed in a metal casing (3).
