Abstract

1320084 Transformers SONY CORP 20 Aug 1971 [22 Aug 1970] 39284/71 Heading HIT [Also in Division H4] A transformer having good shielding characteristics and low capacity coupling between the windings suitable for use in a colour television camera comprises a bobbin 101 of non-magnetic conductive metal such as copper, aluminium, gold, silver, &c., having a hollow hub, three flanges 103a, 103b, 103c and a slot 102. A primary winding is wound on the hub between flanges 103a, 103b and has lead wires 104b, 104c shielded by a braided copper wire sheath 104a connected to the bobbin; secondary windings 105, 106 wound on the hub between flanges 103b, 103c, having terminal leads 105a, 106a respectively twisted together outside the transformer, and their other ends twisted together and connected to provide a centre tap 107. A non-magnetic conductive metal shield case 108 surrounds the bobbin and windings, and is provided with a slot (109) (Fig. 8A, not shown) aligned with slot 102 in the bobbin. A ferrite core consists of two pot-core sections 111, 112 which combine to provide an arm portion which extends into the hollow hub of the bobbin and an outer cylindrical part which surrounds the shield 108, the windings and the bobbin.
