Abstract

1,130,609. Knitting machines. WIRKMASCHINENBAU KARL-MARX-STADT VEB. 11 Nov., 1965, No. 47915/65. Heading D1C. In a circular machine variation in stitch length when the speed of rotation of the needle cylinder is altered is prevented by rotation of the sinker cam ring. During a reduction of speed for effecting racking of the main cam drum the ring is rotated so that the cam surface pushes the sinkers further forward at the knocking-over position. When the speed is to be reduced a Bowden cable, operated by pattern chain lug 12 releases stop 8 from pawl 5-6. The pawl is reciprocated by an oscillating lever 7 to rock a cam ring 2 on the main drum, so that the cam ring is rotated by means of linkage 13-16 engaging a cam 3.
