Abstract

112,704. Willmot, O. J. April 5, 1917. Scotch-blocks. - Wheel scotches for trollies, drays, carts, fire-engines, gun carriages, &c., comprise blocks 1 carried by telescopic arms 6, 7 pivoted at 8 and operated by means of connexions 29 to a hand or foot lever. The blocks 1 are carried by pins 5 adjustably secured in slots 14 in the arms 6, and are formed with teeth 4 underneath. Springs 32 normally force the arms 6 outwards, a stop 11 limiting the movement. The rod 29 may be forked for connexion to the scotch-blocks at both sides of the vehicle and may be connected as shown in full or dotted lines, or may be replaced by a flexible connexion.
