Abstract
1,126,819. Aircraft fuselages. NORDAVIATION SOC. NATIONALE DE CONSTRUCTIONS AERONAUTIQUES. 12 Oot., 1966 [15 Oct., 1965], No. 45702/66. Heading B7W. An aircraft fuselage 1 comprises two hollow members 2, 3 extending side by side along the length of the fuselage and joined' by a common longitudinal girder 4, which may have access apertures 14 in. its web which is vertical, the members 2, 3 being in contact with an. enclosing skin 5 for most of their external surfaces, there being a space 16 between the skin and the members 2, 3, to accommodate aircraft controls 9, to which there may be access through covers 10. Luggage 17 may be loaded by retractable plates 12 into a space below decks 6 in the members 2, 3, the space may also have compartments 21 to house a retracted main undercarriage 19. One illustrated embodiment, Fig 2, has low wings 11 with engines (1b, 1a . . . 1d), Fig. 4 (not shown) carried on the fuselage near the tail plane 1b3. Another illustrated embodiment, Fig. 7, has wings 18 mounted above the structure 8 of the lobes 2, 3 with engines mounted in pods below the wings.
