Abstract

Austenitic stainless steel tubes are treated to increase their high temperature ductility by working them by a planetary swaging process followed by annealing in the temperature range 800 DEG -900 DEG C., the working and annealing being repeated at least once. Treatment of tubes made from a vacuum melted 20% chromium, 25% nickel, mobium stabilized steel is referred to.
