Abstract

1,123,463. Bale loader attachments for tractors. T. W. WORSDALE. 10 March, 1967 [17 May, 1966], No. 21798/66. Heading B8H. To lift a stack of bales, a bale grab, which is attached to the hydraulic lift of a tractor by lugs 7 and arms 10, is lowered over the stack with jaws 1, 2 in the open position shown. A catch holding the jaws open is released by pulling a handle 8 towards the tractor and a lift is applied to the grab. The first part of the lift moves the jaw 2 towards the jaw 1 by pivoting levers 6 anticlockwise as a frame 4 is raised with respect to the jaw 1 and members 3. When the jaw 2 abuts the bales further rotation of the levers 6 is prevented and the bales are gripped and lifted. The jaws 1, 2 may be replaced by other jaws suitable for silage or manure.
