[Also in Division F1] An outboard motor unit for a boat 1 comprises an engine 7 connected to a propeller 8 in a water passage having a suction inlet 10 and a propulsion outlet 13 located so that when the unit is mounted on the boat the inlet is below the water and the outlet is rearwardly directed, and a pipe 21 having one end releasably coupled to the outlet 13 to direct water upwardly from the outlet. In the embodiment described the reactangular section 27 of coupling unit 24 is telescoped over the outlet 13 after the boat has been propelled to a bank close to land to be irrigated. The coupling of the pipe 21 may be carried out with the outboard motor pivoted to its raised position and the pipe may be flexible or may include a flexible portion.
