A bow steering arrangement, e.g. for a cablelaying ship, dredger or barge, comprises a duct 12 with an inlet 13 and outlet 14 in the bottom of the ship, an impeller 15 in the duct and a steering guide 23 at the outlet being rotated by an electric motor 20 and hydraulic motor 28, respectively, under the control of a remote control unit 31, e.g. on a wandering lead.
