Abstract

111,970. Tidswell, N. May 3, 1917. Rotary machines; intaglio-plate printing.-Two pieces 4, 5 of fabric are printed simultaneously with the same design by means of one engraved printing-cylinder 3 coacting with two impression cylinders 1, 2, the cylinder 3 being adjustable by a screw (not shown), perpendicularly to the plane passing through the axes of the cylinders 1, 2 so as to exercise an equal pressure on the two impression cylinders. The cylinder 3 is provided with two colour-supplying devices 6, 7 and doctors 10, 11. Scrapers 8, 9 are provided for cleaning the cylinder 3 between the impression of one piece of fabric and the application of colour to print the second piece. For multi-colour printing, several pairs of impression cylinders with intermediate engraved cylinders may be provided.
