Abstract

1,119,397. Preserving bakery products. V. A. LIMINANA. 8 Dec., 1966 [4 Feb., 1966], No. 55042/66. Heading A2D. [Also in Division F4] A refrigerating apparatus for preserving bread, dough, cakes or pastries comprises a preservation chamber G housing an evaporator B arranged to produce a dry negative temperature (i.e. a temperature below 0‹C. and produced by an evaporator substantially without the creation of moisture on the tubes of the evaporator) in the chamber and being connected in a closed circuit with a compressor E controlled by a thermostat (not shown) in the chamber, a condenser D connected with the evaporator B between the input side thereof and the output side of the compressor E, an impedance device A connected with the compressor E between the input side thereof and the output side of the evaporator B and a hygrostat controlled humidifier C located in the chamber. The impedance device may be a tubular element with inlets A1, outlets A2 and apertured baffles 1. The humidifier may comprise a perforated tube such that water issues therefrom as a spray which quickly evaporates in the chamber to produce a thick mist. The atmosphere of chamber G may be maintained at a temperature of -10‹C. to -25‹C. and a relative humidity of 45-55%.
