A hot-water system for heating a building, e.g. a greenhouse, comprises a portable housing 5, a boiler 7 having a capacity of not more than two gallons supported on brackets 15 within the housing, an oil burner 6 removably positioned beneath the boiler, a gravity-feeding tank 14 connected to the system by pipe 13 and small-bore pipes 9, 10 having an internal diameter of not more than # inch connecting the boiler to heat dissipating means, e.g. radiators 3, in the building. A drain cock 11 and safety valve 12 are provided.
