Abstract

1,028,437. Central heating systems. AGAPLATFORADLING A.B. Oct. 30, 1964 [Nov. 6, 1963], No. 44325/64. Heading F4U. [Also in Division F2] In a single-tube central heating system, hot water is circulated from a conduit 1 to and from a radiator 2 by means of a supply pipe 18 and a return pipe 23 through a connection 13 which can be remover turned through 180 degrees and replaced if the water flow through the conduit 1 is in the opposite direction to that shown. The conduit 1 is in two portions which are connected to a tubular member 3 which is divided into upper and lower chambers by a flow-restricting orifice 5 and a plate partition 4. A base plate 6 is integral with the tubular member 3, having a centrally mounted connecting piece 7 and a recess 9 with aperture 10, the connecting piece 7 communicating with the upper interior of the tubular member 3, the recess 9 communicating with the lower interior. The junction member 13 is provided with a contact plate 14 which is held in pressure contact with the base plate 6. The supply and return pipes 18, 23 are located in threaded collars on the junction member and extend to the radiator. The direction of flow is indicated by the arrows but flow may also be provided in the opposite direction by rotating the tubular member through 180 degrees about the axis of the connecting piece 7.
