A radiator for hot water central heating systems has a vertical pipe 3 connected to the water inlet 1 and having its upper end 4 opening at the top of the radiator, the water circulating as shown by the arrows to an outlet 2. In another embodiment (Fig. 2) the inlet and outlet passages are arranged coaxially in a single connecting piece beneath the centre section of the radiator. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3) having only two radiator sections, the inlet and outlet passages are separate bores in a single connecting piece. A valve (Fig. 4) having a truncated cone vertically movable above the pipe mouth 4 may be mounted on the top of the radiator.
