Abstract
1,116,642. Jackets for containers. TOMATIN DISTILLERS CO., Ltd. 9 Aug., 1965 [14 Aug., 1964], No. 33990/65. Heading B8D. A cask-like container, formed for example of fibre or cardboard, has a covering 5 which may be of synthetic plastics sheet or foil and has longitudinal and transverse grooves 7, 8 formed in its outer surface to give the appearance of staves and hoops. An inner container of glass or plastics and having a combined filling and discharge neck may be included. The base 4 of the cask may be produced separately. The covering 5, which may be of foamed P.V.C., adheres to the container body by its own resilience and is drawn when cold over the body. At its upper end the covering is held by a disc-shaped end 17 seated on a shoulder formed on the body. The member 17 is also covered. The interior of the body has a reinforcing ring half-way up it.
