[Also in Group XIII] A beer barrel cover 2 is made of a resilient open-pore plastic foam sheet material, such as polyurethane foam or polyisocyanate-foamed unsaturated alkyd resin. By keeping the cover wet, the barrel 1 is cooled by evaporation. The cover is made up from a number of sections 3, 4, 5, 6 with extruded plastic 7 serving as piping in the seams and a binding strip along its periphery.
