Abstract

1,113,855. Delivering sheets. MUIRHEAD & CO. Ltd. 4 July, 1966 [24 Aug., 1965], No. 36377/65. Heading B6H. Sheets 16 are delivered from a roller 17 into a vertical position where a pair of flaps 14, 15 are pivoted to turn the sheet on to a stack formed on a substantially horizontal but convex surface 3. The flaps 14, 15, in the operated position shown by the full lines in Fig. 1, form a guide to direct the sheets into a V 3a formed in the stack convex support plate 3. The flaps are held in the operative position shown, by an electromagnet 6, which when released permits the flaps 14, 15 to pivot counterclockwise by spring or gravity to the dotted position, thereby depositing the sheets on to the stack. The curvature of the plate 3 counteracts the curling of sheets on drying.
