1,113,670. Charging and discharging autoclaves. MASCHINEN-UND APPARATEBAU DIETIKON A.G. DIETIKON. 31 Dec., 1965 [22 Jan., 1965], No. 55505/65. Heading SIX. [Also in Divisions B8 and F4] Apparatus for charging or discharging an autoclave 1, Fig. 1. comprises roller tracks 12, 13 situated respectivelv outside and inside the autoclave I, the rollers 25 of track 12 being driven and a clutch member 18 actuable by the autoclave closure means being arranged to transmit the drive from the rollers 25 to the rollers 26 of the track 13 when sliding door 2 of the autoclave 1 is in its open position. The door 2 is held in its open position by a dog 3 carried by a rack 4 upward movement of which permits the door to be closed by a weight 5. A grab 6 on the door 2 engages a cylindrical extension 6' and moves links 7, pivoted arms 8 and cams 9 to press the door against a gasket 10. The clutch member 18 is in the form of a gear adapted to mesh with gears (33, 34) Figs. 2 to 5 (not shown), of the roller tracks 12, 13 the gear 18 being rotatably mounted on an arm 15 pivotally supported on the door 2 and spring-urged outwardly of the latter. In operation, the door 2 passes between the gears 33, 34 to its closed position, the gear 18 being thereby disengaged from the gears 33. 34. In a second embodiment, Fig. 6 the outer roller track 12a is longitudinally movable and carries at its front end a gear 18a which is continuously in mesh with a gear 33a of the track 12a and when the latter is in its forward position is adapted to engage a gear 34a on the inside roller track 13a. The track 12a is spring-loaded to its forward position and a surface 38 on the door 2 abuts against lateral rollers 37 on the track to move the latter away from the door when the door is moved to its closed position. In a third embodiment. Fig. 7 (not shown), which is similar to the second embodiment, the outer roller track (12b) is pivoted at (41) for movement to and from the engaged position of the gear (\Sh). The track may be moved by a spring or by gravity to its downwardly pivoted position.
