Abstract

1,112,414. Electric switches &c. CALOREMAG ELEKTRIZITATS A.G. 22 April, 1965 [27 May, 1964], No. 17047/65. Heading H1N. Two high-tension conductors 1, 15 are each embedded or immersed in an insulating medium having a dielectric strength greater than that of air and connection between them is effected in a casing 5 filled with a fluid insulating medium having a dielectric strength greater than that of air. The conductors carry contacts 4, 12. The conductor 15 with its casing 16 is inserted through seals 58, 59 on either side of an annular chamber 62 while a shutter 29 remains closed against a seal 45, air being allowed to escape through longitudinal channels 64 formed in the casing 16. When these have passed the seal 58 the shutter 28 opens and the movement of the conductor 16 completed to effect the contact. In this position the chamber 62 is vented to the atmosphere through a further channel in the casing 16.
