Abstract
1,110,830. Roll stand. BETEILIGUNGSUND PATENTVERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 17 Dec., 1965 [19 Dec., 1964], No. 53691/65. Heading B3M. In a roll stand, each of the roll chocks 1 is retained in the roll housing 2 by flaps 4 pivoted to the housing at 5, wedge-shaped latches 11 being provided on the flaps which co-operate with a clamping member 9 secured to a bar 6 pivoted to the housing at 7, so as to lock the flaps against face 17 of the housing. Member 9 is secured to bar 6 by a shear bolt 8, and the latches are displaceably mounted in a guide 10 on the flaps, and urged by a spring 12 against member 9. The distance between surfaces 20 and 21 on housing 2, and flap 4, is greater than the thickness of the chock, so as to allow vertical displacement of the latter. Movement of the latches is effected by an hydraulic piston 14, through lever 15. In a modification, the piston 14 is mounted inside guide 10. A common control device for the pistons of all of the chocks may be provided.
