Abstract

1,199,577. Seats. A. R. FAIRLIE and G. K. PETRIE. 22 Aug., 1968 [27 June, 1967], No. 29614/67. Heading A4J. A slidably or rollably mounted car front seat is restrained, against sudden forward movement, by a piston and cylinder type of shock absorber 15, which is connected at one end 18 to the seat frame 5 and at the other end, via a post 12, to a selected mounting point 13, on a stationary fixing 9. The shock absorber is constructed so that its extension rate, under a given force is greater than its contraction rate under the same force. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,069,647.
