Abstract

1300716 Seats DAIMLER-BENZ A G 3 June 1971 [6 June 1970] 18832/71 Heading A4J Movement between the sliding rails 4, 5 of a pair of seat slides is prevented, when an excess load is applied to a seat belt attached to the upper slide rail 4, by the engagement of a rod 14 extending transversely of the seat in one of a number of notches 16 formed in a downwardly extending flange 8 of an angle-section member 7 secured to the lower guide rail 5. The upper slide rail 4 has secured thereto a member 10 having a forwardly and downwardly extending deformable arm 12 to which a seat belt is attached. Rod 14 which is secured between two arms 12 engages in a notch 16 when the arms are deformed when a load is applied to the seat belt.
