Abstract

1,109,383. Vehicle heaters. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd. 27 Oct., 1966 [2 Dec., 1965], No. 51158/65. Heading F4V. A vehicle heater casing comprises an assembly of units 6, 7, 8, 9 formed from a rigid foam material such as expanded polystyrene, forming a duct 4 from a radiator 12 via a fan unit 19 or 19<SP>1</SP> to an outlet 5. The Figure shows a top view of an embodiment such that the curved surface of the unit 9 is directed towards the vehicle dashboard and the outlets 5 are directed downwardly. Air enters by an inlet in the scuttle of the vehicle and through an opening in the unit 9 as shown by the arrows. The units may be assembled by screw or adhesive means and protected by a coating of paint, polyester sheet or textile material. The fan motors are retained by radiating arms fixed to the casing.
