Abstract

1341953 Heating and ventilating motor vehicles FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 21 Aug 1972 [28 Sept 1971] 38868/72 Heading F4V A motor vehicle heating and ventilating system comprises a passage 5 between a facia pressing 1 and its covering 2 leading to air outlets 4, a nozzle 3 for directing an airflow on to the windscreen, and a control duct 8 pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis and supplied with heated or ambient air, whereby an air supply to the duct 8 may be directed to the nozzle 3 and/or the passage 5 or may be cut-off. Control ducts 8 for both sides of the vehicle may be located in a common or separate housings 7. Alternatively, each duct 8 may be connected to or formed integrally with a flexible air supply hose. The covering 2 is formed from foamed synthetic material, and the outlets 4 are provided over the length of the covering 2.
