Abstract

1,236,737. Heating vehicles. P. KREIS. 25 March, 1969 [2 April, 1968], No. 15481/69. Heading F4V. An air heating and distributing system for a caravan comprises a space heater 2, a hood collecting the heated air and having a top wall 7, side walls 6 and a back wall 9, the back wall 9 having an opening 12 through which the air is sucked by a cross-flow fan 15 and distributed to the caravan through two or more hoses 28. A fan housing 25 may be surrounded by a housing 30 having an inlet 31 for an air stream for cooling the fan motor. The motor is speed adjustable and may also drive another fan to assist the cooling air flow. In another embodiment, the fan 15 is provided in a duct connected to the opening 12 or fans are placed at the outlets from the hoses 28. The heater 2 which may still operate with the fan 15 inoperative is rectangular in cross-section or cylindrical.
