Abstract

1,108,166. Tundish pouring nozzles. ERIK OLSSON A.G. 23 July, 1965 [23 July, 1964], No. 31470/65. Heading F4B. [Also in Division B3] A metallic, e.g. copper nozzle 3 to supply molten metal to a continuous casting mould 2, which is vibrated relative thereto, has a short slightly spherical sliding surface 5 for contact with said mould and a plurality of longitudinal grooves 6 around the circumference thereof to vent the gases formed from a lubricant supplied to the sliding surfaces 5. The nozzle has a divergent ceramic sleeved pouring orifice 9 and coolant passages 4.
