1328267 Continuous casting mould VEREINIGTE ALUMINIUM-WERKE AG 3 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969 12 June 1970] 52250/70 Addition to 1236291 Heading B3F The mould of the continuous casting apparatus disclosed in Specification 1,236,291 is modified by providing a direct cooling chamber 12, wherein coolant comes into contact with a casting 9 issuing from an indirectly cooled forming chamber 5, with a constant crosssection along its length. Coolant is supplied to the chamber 12 from a first set of bores 14 arranged parallel to the length of the chamber 12 and through a second set of bores 17 arranged transversely to the length of chamber 12. The coolant issuing from bores 17 can be water, water-air mixture or air.
