Abstract

1,034,410. Continuous casting-machines. SOUTHWIRE CO. Dec. 29, 1964 [Dec. 30, 1963], No. 52634/64. Heading B3F. In a wheel-type continuous casting machine the surfaces of the mould are cooled by groups of jets which are selectively controlled. The valves for the coolant may be controlled manually or alternatively in accordance with the temperature of the casting leaving the wheel groove by an electrical control system incorporating a pyrometer.
