Abstract

1,221,960. Cooling moulds. NIPPON STEEL CORP. 19 Sept., 1968, No. 32114/70. Divided out of 1,221,959. Heading B3F. Ingot moulds are cooled, after removal of the ingots cast in them, firstly by air cooling until their surface temperature is less than 500‹ C. and then by jetting water upon them until their temperature is below 100‹ C. The rate of cooling by water should not exceed the maximum rate of air cooling attained. The apparatus utilized is disclosed in Specification 1,221,959.
