110,752. Dawe, G. S. May 25, 1916, [Convention date]. Fixed-abutment type; working- fluid supply; cooling; packing.-An internal-combustion engine of the sliding-rotating piston type has a pair of coaxial cylinders with sliding- rotating pistons 28 which engage stationary cam surfaces 3, 11 at the centre and ends of the cylinders, respectively. Carried by the cam surfaces are rollers 34, 35 against which vertical faces 31 of the pistons bear. The pistons are secured to a sleeve 25 which slides over and rotates with the central driving-shaft 12. Admission and exhaust valves (not shown) are actuated by cams 46 on a half-speed shaft 23. Packing rings are fitted on the pistons 28 and the casing has cooling jackets provided.
