Abstract
1,102,594. Multiple filament incandescent lamps. SHIH-WOO LOU. 22 April, 1966, No. 17734/66. Addition to 1,055,666. Heading H1F. The lamp of the parent Specification is modified by making the second filament which comes into operation should the first filament fail, of a higher resistance (e.g. 50% greater) than the first. The filaments 17, 18 are also arranged in the lamp parallel to the axis instead of transversely, being supported by wires 15, 16 passing through a bead 19. The wire 15 is connected through the lamp base 10 to a lead 11 and the wire 16 by a current bridge of aluminium oxide coated aluminium wire to the wire 15. The opposite ends of both filaments are connected by a wire 14 passing through the bead 19 and base 10 to a lead 12.
