Abstract

1,101,597. Prefabricated room units. ELCON A.G. 9, July, 1965 [11, July, 1964], No. 28736/64. Heading E1A. The reinforced concrete floor panel 1 of a transportable room element is connected to two reinforced concrete end-wall-forming members 2' at locations spaced apart widthwise of the panel 1 by a plurality of joints at each location spaced apart transversely to the width of the panel, each joint comprising elements 3 or 4 projecting from the panel 1 each into a clearance hole 11 in the end-wallforming members 2, the clearance between the elements 3, 4 and the walls of the hole 11 being filled with an adhesive filling which may be a mixture of an aggregate in a matrix of a setting adhesive. The projecting elements may in an alternative arrangement, project downwards from the end-wall-forming members into holes in the floor panel. The adhesive may be an epoxy resin and the aggregate may be quartz sand. The elements 3, 4 may be of metal and the holes 11 may each be constituted by the bore of a metal tube, and the peripheral surfaces of each may be shaped, to provide a mechanical bond with the filling mixture. The adjacent faces of the members 1, 2' which may be slightly spaced apart to receive the filling mixture therebetween may be formed by metal plates secured,to the reinforcemen-ts of the members 1 and 2'.
