The sealing gaiter of flexible, micro-cellular material for a ball-and-socket joint according to the parent Specification is impregnated with a water-repellant viscous liquid or pasty substance, e.g. lubricant grease which is compatible with the gaiter material and occupies the cells so as to oppose penetration of moisture through the seal. The impregnation may be effected by hot-immersion and/or vacuum.
