1,098,375. String instrument bridges. CESKOSLOVENSKE HUDEBNI NASTROJE NARODNI PODNIK. Oct. 19, 1965 [Nov. 26, 1964], No. 44181/65. Heading G5J. The figure shows a two-part bridge for an electric guitar. The strings pass over notches 18 in the upper part 1 the height of which above the lower part 2 is adjustable by set screws 3, 4. A string damper consisting of a carrier 10 with a pad attached is pivoted loosely on the upper member by screws 8, 9 and its inclination is varied by a set screw 12 which bears at its lower end on a steel spring carried by the lower member. The notches 18 are formed by inclined slots in screw 19 which may be screwed forward or back to adjust string tension.
