Abstract
1,097,502. Ventilators. OZONAIR ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. June 29, 1964 [July 1, 1963], No. 26070/63. Heading F4V. An air distributer or extractor associated with a fluorescent light fitting 11 comprises an air supply or extraction conduit 15 having a butterfly damper 19, and a plenum 16 having an outlet 17 and an air directing vane 23. The butterfly damper is operated by a flexible screw 20 reversible through the outlet 17. When used for air supply, vertical flow from the outlet 17 occurs with the vane 23 in its Fig. 1 position and horizontal outflow occurs when the vane is pivoted about its axis 24 to lie against the opposite wall of the plenum. The vane is held in either of these two positions by its own weight. If the conduit 15 is supplied from an air conditioning system, the latter may be under the control of the temperature sensed in the plenum 16 to take account of the heating effect of the fluorescent lights.
