Abstract
1470561 Ventilation air distributing systems SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN AB 1 April 1974 [13 April 1973] 14330/74 Heading F4V. In an air distributing system of the kind in which a variable amount of air is supplied to keep the temperature of a room at a desired value, the air is supplied in two separate streams of which the first has a constant small volume and a constant high speed and the second has a relatively large volume which is varied to maintain said desired temperature and a relatively low speed, the momentum of the first stream being so high compared with that of the second that variations in the second stream air flow make only a negligible difference to the total momentum of the two air streams. The high speed stream is supplied through a pipe 1 and nozzle 5, the low speed stream through a pipe 2 and outlet 9, this stream being throttled by a fixed member 11 and controlled via a flap valve 12 by a thermostat 14. The pipes 1, 2 may be connected to the same or different air supply ducts. Instead of being adjacent and near the ceiling of the room as shown, the high speed stream may be at the top of a wall and the low speed stream at the bottom of the wall.
