Abstract

Conditioned air is supplied through a main duct (2) from which branches run in pairs (4,6). The flow through one (4) of the pair is constant and the flow through the other (6)is varied by a damper (18) controlled by a thermostat (16). The air outlets (8) are installed in pairs with one of the pair connected to each of the branch ducts. The discharge velocity of the outlet connected to the constant flow duct is constant. The jet from the constant velocity outlet entrains the jet from the adjoining variable velocity outlet. The circulation pattern through the room is thus maintained in spite of reduced total flow.
