Abstract

1,097,325. Injection moulding machines. FARREL CORPORATION. May 10, 1966, No. 20665/66. Heading B5A. A removable injection nozzle 5 is held in place by a nozzle-retaining assembly 12 which is threaded into the end of an injection cylinder 1 and bears against a shoulder 10 on the nozzle through a number of independently adjustable high pressure jack screws 17. The cylinder 1 and nozzle-retaining assembly 12 have cooperating breech lock threads 13 to provide quick release of the nozzle after loosening the screws 17. A torpedo 17 may be axially retained by the nozzle 5 only.
